Congratulations! 25,000 people strong for open access…and counting!

The OA community and its supporters have done it. We have now reached the 25,000 signatures needed to compel the White House to issue a response to this petition. The petition urges expanding open access to research funded by all U.S federal Science Agencies.

Let’s not stop at 25,000. The OA movement is gaining strength by the day and the groundswell of support for this petition provides a huge boost of momentum for the cause. Please join PLoS in showing your firm support of eliminating unnecessary barriers to immediate availability, access, and use of research by signing the petition if you have not already done so.
