Who’s excited for SfN? The PLOS Neuro community is!

With the Society for Neuroscience annual meeting in Washington, D.C. about to start, it’s time to figure out how to get the most out of your time at the conference. But don’t fret; the PLOS Neuro Community will be there by your side to help keep you connected to your peers and informed about important events and discussions. It’s not too late to get involved yourself. To learn more about tweeting or blogging with PLOS Neuro, read our invitation here.

Throughout SfN14, you’ll be able to find us at PLOS booth #137, where editors from the PLOS journals will be holding daily “Meet the Editors” sessions (see schedule below) for present and potential PLOS authors, as well as Credit for Data Workshops to answer all your questions about data submission requirements, storage, and sharing.

PLOS Neuro Collaborative blogging and live tweeting

Thanks to all the phenomenal volunteers who have offered to help tweet and blog the conference, it will be even easier to stay on top of the most interesting and influential posters, symposiums and workshops. Be sure to follow @PLOSNeuro on Twitter, and look for tweets jointly marked with the #PLOS and #SfN14 hashtags.

The community will be collaboratively blogging the conference on our PLOS Neuro SfN14 Live Blog. Visit this page throughout and after the meeting for recaps and commentaries on notable sessions. Until then, stimulate your SfN appetite with a sneak peak of who we are; leading up to the conference, contributors will be introducing themselves and discussing some of the sessions they plan to cover.

A PLOS Neuro Community Social!

After a long day of intensive listening, presenting and traversing the never-ending poster hall, we invite you to rest your brain and your feet at the PLOS-hosted social, Monday (November 17), 7 pm at the Baby Wale. Connect with members of the PLOS team as well as colleagues from the neuroscience community. We hope to see you there! Here’s your invitation with all the details.

Meet the Editors Sessions

Between 10-11 am each day (Sunday through Wednesday, November 16-19), the editors – Eric Martins of PLOS ONE, Amy Ross of PLOS Medicine, and Gabriel Gasque of PLOS Biology – will be available to chat with you.

Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, from 1-2 pm, visit the PLOS booth (#137) for a lively discussion on data-sharing presented by members of the PLOS Data Team. They’ll take your questions and cover how researchers can be acknowledged for their data contributions and how data can be most effectively shared and reused. The workshop will provide an update on PLOS’ efforts to drive these activities, through their new data policy.

As always, join the discussion or submit your questions and suggestions by contacting us via Twitter or email.
