Thank you to our volunteers. Your contributions throughout the past year have helped accelerate discovery and develop science during these unpredictable times.
The team at PLOS and the wider Open Science community are incredibly grateful for the thoughtfulness and expertise that you, our Editorial Board Members, Guest Editors and Reviewers, bring to your roles in the peer review process. Your rigorous assessment of submitted manuscripts is an invaluable contribution, and your ongoing commitment to Open Science inspires us.

What did we achieve?
In the past year our journal teams have worked to introduce new Open Access opportunities to support inclusivity, reproducibility and improving trust in science by involving more people in the scientific process. Our efforts aim to ensure a diverse and sustainable publishing ecosystem providing researchers of every career stage and discipline the chance to publish their findings.
- As of 2020 all PLOS journals now offer institutional partnership deals to equitably distribute the costs of publication and ensure that Open Science is really open for all.
- We’ve empowered researchers to share more of their science with new registered report submission options at PLOS ONE and PLOS Biology which introduces peer review at the experiment design stage.
- The quality and breadth of PLOS research has enabled us to create new curated editorial collections to advance a range of important fields.
None of this would be possible without you, our dedicated Editorial Board Members, Guest Editors and Reviewers.
As we step into 2021 we will all undoubtedly come up against a unique set of challenges but rest assured, PLOS will continue to serve the Open Science community. Together we can ensure that researchers from all regions have every opportunity to share their work with experienced scientists from a host of disciplines.
Once again, THANK YOU to ALL of our dedicated volunteers.
