Tell us a little about your research.

I use mixed methods to investigate ways to improve outcomes for pregnant and postpartum women living with HIV and their infants. My research is mainly conducted at the Academic Model Providing Access to Healthcare program in Kenya.

What are the important factors that you look for when selecting a journal for your research?

I select a journal based on its reputation and reach among other researchers and stakeholders in my field of research.

Why did you decide to publish with PLOS Global Public Health?

I selected PLOS Global Public Health having published several papers in PLOS ONE and PLOS Neglected Tropical Diseases over the years. I have found the PLOS submission system to be easy to navigate. I also like the way PLOS formats my papers for publication.

What was your experience of the PLOS Global Public Health publishing process?

This experience is on par with my prior experiences working with PLOS.

What advice would you give to other authors considering publishing with PLOS Global Public Health?

The readership is likely to be broad and the topics very diverse, so having a very well focused title and abstract will help future readers.

Would you publish with PLOS again? Why?

I have had good experiences with PLOS and have received prompt communications from them whenever questions or issues have arisen.

Read the latest published article that John co-authored, A qualitative study of the barriers and enhancers to retention in care for pregnant and postpartum women living with HIV.
