Welcome to Peer Review Week

It’s Peer Review Week, an annual event to celebrate the value of peer review in scholarly publishing. And peer review does not happen without the contributions from tens of thousands of researchers who dedicate their time and energy to support the scientific endeavor. From all of us at PLOS, we want to thank you for everything you do for our research community!

As a peer reviewer, and trusted specialist in your field, you play a critical role in ensuring the quality and credibility of academic research, as well as helping authors improve their papers to ensure their research reaches the communities that need it most.

There is a dedicated website for this annual event that lists various activities and events in which can participate. Here at PLOS, you can check out our Peer Review Center, which has helpful tips if you are just starting out as a peer reviewer. Then, if you want to hone your reviewer skills, you can sign-up to receive our Peer Review Toolbox directly to your inbox. It is packed with tips and resources; it has everything you need to help you succeed in your important role as a PLOS reviewer.

Lastly, here is also a list of blogs that we have published in recent years that touch on the topic of peer review. Enjoy! And thank you again!!!
